Vijay Gupta, an alumnus of IIT Mumbai and a first-generation entrepreneur, brings over 29 years of experience in developing complex CAD/CAE/Project Management software. His tenure at Crompton Greaves and Godrej & Boyce laid the foundation for his expertise in this field. Holding an M.Tech degree from IIT Mumbai, he continues to lead SoftTech with innovation & vision.

He has over forty-one years of teaching and research experience in the broad areas of Structural Engineering, Computational Mechanics, Composite Mechanics, Wind-induced Vibrations, Fatigue and Technical Software Development. He has received several accolades and honors for excellence in academics and research. He has supervised a large number of PhD students and published over two hundred research papers in reputed international journals and conferences. He has completed over two hundred consultancy projects and over six research and development projects in India and abroad. He has published three books and has one edited book as well as a patent to his credit. He has been a mentor to a company and has been serving on Academic Boards, Advisory Committees of various institutes and government bodies. He has held several key administrative positions at his institute.
